Pinched another list meme/idea/thing/stuff…

David Bridger blogged a list of thirteen movies/films he found exemplified his love for deep dark, emotional noirishness and I thought that would be a good jog to my memory without dwelling on my troubles.
So here goes:
1. Lawrence of Arabia, with Peter O’Toole and Omar Sharif. I saw this first when I was about 14 (whenever it came to Australia) and I’ve remembered how good it was ever since. The coolness and un-hype that was the hallmark of a more British than American production style.
2. Doctor Zhivago
4. Being There
5. Being John Malkovitch
6. The City of Lost Children
7. 2001: A space odyssey
8. The Crying Game (also on David’s list)
9. Casablanca
10. Blue Velvet
11. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
12. A Clockwork Orange
13. Rainman
14. Paris, Texas
15. Fargo
16. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
